don’t tell anyone but there’s stripped stud in one of the bearing caps.

I wonder if any of the junkyard alfa’s i’m going to see will have aftermarket cams in them. I hope I find a 16v twinspark in there

Is that oil gathered under the bottom camshaft? shouldn’t it drain away?

It’s an Alfa design feature: Leaks down the valve stems and provides upper cylinder lubrication on startup!.

It’s canted towards the exhaust side so the oil tends to stay.

Hmmm. You may find a Twin Spark engine (based on the traditional “Nord” engine). But Twin Spark engines with 16 valves are a Fiat thing and are not based on the “Nord” architecture. (Unless we are talking about some exotic prototype/Angelini/Novamotor heads etc)
